Macufe Thrives Towards Greater Celebrations

The Free State province is about to come alive with the annaual Macufe feastival. The the 10-day Mangaung African Cultural Festival will kick off on Saturday, 01 October 2011 and end with a bang on Sunday, 09 October 2011.

Join a ten day feast of jazz, gospel, kwaito, hip-hop, R&B, rock and classical music, as well as dance, drama, cabaret, musical theatre, poetry, fine art and traditional arts and crafts. The incredibly popular Mangaung African Cultural Festival showcases the cream of African and international talent.

Featuring US R&B greats Bebe Winans and Johnny Gill, Zimbabwean superstars Thomas Mapfumo and Oliver Mtukudzi, and some of South Africa's most popular performers, this year's Macufe Festival won't fall short of expectations.

Adding to the local razzmatazz at the fest will be stars Thandiswa Mazwai, Selaelo Selota, Zakes Bantwini, HHP, Kaya, Bhudaza, Peter Nthwane and Fossils.

With the goal to be the biggest, most culturally balanced showcase of African Arts and Culture in the world, this year's event proves that that goal is not far off. The week's event will start with the Macufe Carnival and followed with the Macufe gospel festival on the the 2nd featuring Solly Mahlangu, Kgotso Makgalema, Connie Lamola, Winnie Mashaba, Teboho & Friends, Paul Lechalaba, Primrose, Msingizane, Shakers,Kgosi, Manase, Ebenezer, TAC 5, Manthatisi, SelloMalete.
